I cried last night while I watched Barack Obama take the stage in front of a crowd of 100,000 people. I watched every moment of the results coming in last night with three of my closest friends. When Obama took Ohio we all but did a victory dance. It was like we somehow knew that by him getting that state we now had a shot. But the most anticipated moment came when the polls closed on the west coast, so 10pm here. As soon as it hit 10 pm we watched the west coast light up blue and MSNBC called the election.
Even though they had called it, my friends and I waited till McCain took the stage to concede. Then and only then we were on our feet dancing and cheering. I am so proud of this country for voting for change and for giving Barack Obama the 44th slot as a president of the United States.
